Double Decker Day

An experience of a Chicago tourist

Double+Decker+Day
Hop-on hop-off busses are usually fun to do when you’re visiting a big city like Chicago, except when you don’t hop off. I spent the entire day on a double-decker bus, sitting in traffic for almost 2 hours. Chicago had some interesting sights, the Willis tower, Cloud Gate, and Navy Pier.

The day started off at Navy Pier, which was filled with many sights, but was rushed due to the fact that we needed to get back on the bus. The bus started off fun, and we saw many of the interesting sights Chicago offered, but after awhile it started to get boring because we started seeing and hearing about the same places again . The bus got stuck in traffic by the Shedd Aquarium on the opposite side of Chicago from where Navy Pier was located and sat there for 30 minutes barely moving.

The next day we visited the Field Museum, where we visited the Jurassic World exhibition. They built robotic dinosaurs that were so realistic and lifelike that my little sister thought they were real. In addition to being in an exhibition, the props were used in the movie, which was pretty neat. The Field Museum was filled with rich history such as slavery artifacts and even an Egyptian mummy. On top of my terrible bus ride, I lost my family and was left alone, so I ventured around the museum by myself. At the end of the day, we tried Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza and it was really good.

Overall, the trip was really fun, and I got to see many sights that I had not seen before. Even though there were many ups and downs, I will remember that trip forever because I got to experience a lot of it with my family.
