Science department wins Exxon Mobil grant

The DHS Physics classes earned a $500 grant from Exxon Mobil! With the funds, they purchased seven Green Snap Circuit Kits. AP Physics, PAP Physics and Physics I students across the campus have had the opportunity to build some exciting projects which focus on green sources of energy like wind, light and water to produce electrical current to run LEDs, motors, buzzers and capacitors. Students also practiced their wiring skills with some advanced projects. All of the physics students have enjoyed working together to build projects which utilize GREEN energy resources. April 22, Earth Day was also a great opportunity for the students to combine a study of environmentally friendly resources and electrical energy generation!
