The space race started in 1957 and ended in 1975, but White House officials confirmed that in 2020, President Trump’s plan to assemble the so called “Space Force” begins. The Space Force fronts President Trump’s re-election campaign. This idea leaves voters wondering why people need a Space Force, and how it impacts the United States.

President Trump wants space domination by bringing together the space program. He wants the new force to resemble “Star Wars”. In other words, prepare for The Space Race 2.0. This means that the new branch of the military, in order to start, needs financial support. Funding for the education departments risks getting cut even more so. Teachers already struggle with pay cuts and schools lack the funds for necessary equipment. Without the funds for necessary improvements, school education departments risk going downhill. Taxpayer’s dollars put billions towards this new program to defend the United States of America from the vast frontier of outer space, instead of fixing existing domestic problems.

No one truly knows what outer space holds, including President Trump. The importance of space still continues to put questions and concerns into people’s heads. U.S. wars on aliens and Klingons never sparked debate in the past from an international/national security standpoint because tangible evidence of their existence never truly existed in the first place. It would make more sense if President Trump focuses the Space Force on space exploration instead of a line of defense. Changing the Space Force into an exploration program to explore the universe and look for planets suitable for human life insures that the human race survives and thrives in future generations. That way taxpayer’s dollars finance something more than “defending” Earth from unknown, often unseen “beings”.

While some scientists and space experts’ interests and opinions conflict on the topic, the Space Force shows some potential. For example, the United States defends the whole world from aliens and the people of America now rest easy knowing that space invaders must go through the Space Force. Right now, countries need to focus on domestic issues, but who knows, one day President Trump might take people to infinity and beyond.
