1. If you plan on going to church, don’t spend your whole freshman year “church
hopping.” Visit a few and then stick to one. You will meet people of all ages,
backgrounds and ethnicities. You will find that family away from home to cook
you the meals you miss so much. You will find college students with similar
values. You will find young adults who remember what it’s like to be in your
shoes. And best of all, you will find precious children.
2. One word: Chick-fil-A. It will never fail you.
3. Resist the pressure to drink underage. You will probably get caught, and it’s
not worth it, Find ways to have fun without alcohol. I have had so many great
times in college, and get this, I remember all of them.
4. Girls, college is about finding your bridesmaids. Let your groom find you.
Invest in your friendships with girls. You will need someone to celebrate with
after that first date.
5. You will pull at least one all nighter each semester. Embrace it. Go to
Whataburger for a study break. Drink coffee until it leaks out your pores. One
of these days, you will be too old to make it 24 hours without sleep. Take
advantage of it now.
